Who I Am

I studied Letters at the University of Bucharest and I earned my PhD in Linguistics at the same university. During my MA and PhD I also studied in France, University of Paris 13 and Paris 8, during some scholarships and research internships.

Since 2008, I have been working as a researcher at ‘Iorgu Iordan – Al. Rosetti’ Institute of Linguistics of the Romanian Academy. The same year I also began teaching, as a collaborator. At first, I held French language courses at the University of Civil Engineering in Bucharest, and later, in 2011, Romanian language courses for the foreign students at the University of Bucharest. My studies in Linguistics helped me think clearly and organized; they have thought me not to take any information for granted and understand that language is much more than just a means of communication. Working with students gave me the freedom to form young people, sometimes only a year or two younger than me. I had the privilege to see them progress and to strike up lasting friendships with them.

In 2011 I started working in the media, out of passion. I was a reporter for the News Department of TVR (Romanian National Television), where I met people who showed me trust and I learned things which you don’t find in books, things you experiment until you get better and better at them. The National Television was where I conducted my first interviews, reports and my first live broadcasts. Then I lived in the faster pace of a news television. From 2012 to 2014 I worked as a reporter at Digi24, where I conducted interviews, reports and live broadcasts.
